To the Ratepayers of the Sol Plaatje Municipality.
Are you satisfied:-
* That the Municipal Rates and Services charges you are required to pay are being appropriately applied?

* That for the last 9 years The Sol Plaatje Municipality has received a Qualified Audit Report, which means, amongst other things, that they have not been able to account satisfactorily for your money received and expended by them?

* That despite the fact that you have provided the means for the appointment and retention of qualified and competent technical staff, that there are virtually no qualified personnel in the employ of the Sol Plaatje Municipality, and even worse, that in many instances they have been replaced with highly paid but incompetent persons?

* That the competent persons who remain in the employ of The Sol Plaatje Municipality are demotivated by lack of resources and recognition?

* That virtually every municipal function is dysfunctional?

* That every tarred road in the city has been allowed to fall into disrepair with little or no attempt to do proper repairs or to maintain them with the resultant risk to life and property?

* That damaged traffic signs, signposts and road names are just left and never repaired?

* That the water reticulation system is failing with no acceptable planning having been done to upgrade and maintain the existing systems and that millions of litres of water are wasted due to leaks flowing into drains (where they exist!) resulting in futile expenditure with the pumping and purification of water?

* That the Sewerage / Disposal and Purification Units have been permitted to fall into disrepair with dire consequences for the health of the citizens of Kimberley and its surrounds and scant consideration for the environment that is being polluted?

* That no acceptable system is in place for the recovery of outstanding municipal rates and service charges, and that the burden of financing the municipal machine rests upon those who are faithfully paying for their own services as well as for those who do not do so?

* That the entire City of Kimberley recently spent 3 days without water because of a breakdown in the water pumps supplying Kimberley due to a complete lack of foresight, planning and maintenance of this equipment?

CONGRATULATIONS – YOU ARE GETTING THE ADMINISTRATION YOU DESERVE
IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED – DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!!
